I’m learning that sometimes biting my tongue is the best option. While there is so much to say and so much that I want to say, I’m resisting the urge to do so. Not because I think it’s mean or catty, but because I know that it would get me no where. There would be no benefit from saying the things I want to say. Sure, I don’t like when people avoid my questions, and I don’t like when they randomly cancel our plans, and really don’t like when I’m ignored for an entire day for no reason, but I’m not going to let that get to me and I’m sure as hell not going to say anything I’d regret.
I have one too many regrets already and those regrets all started with something- sometimes as simply as a slip of the tongue. So let me bite my tongue and we’ll all be better off.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)
